Angela Gorton heads up our Employment Law department.  She joined Fox Hayes in 2006.  Prior to this she trained at Zermansky and Partners before moving to Hammonds solicitors and then Hempsons, a specialist NHS firm.

Angela has extensive experience of both private and public sectors, including charities and partnerships and undertakes a wide range of contentious and non-contentious work.  She advises across a range of Employment Law issues and has handled a number of high profile, long running and complex discrimination cases and group actions.  She has advised across most sectors including financial and business services, IT, manufacturing, retail, construction and professional services.

Angela has worked for a number of household names including Royal Mail, Matalan and Quarmby as well as a number of NHS Trusts, Primary Care Trusts and GP surgeries.  She frequently conducts her own advocacy and designs and delivers seminars and training programmes for operational managers as well as HR specialists.

In particular, Angela specialises in discrimination cases, particularly disability discrimination, and all aspects of the disciplinary and grievance processes, drafting contracts, policies, employee handbooks and age discrimination.

Angela also assists with the employment aspects of business transfers for the Business Transfer Company.
