During the whole of his time with the firm Richard's work has been in the property department. He has gained a wide experience in all forms of property work and, during the last 10 years, has concentrated on commercial property work and looking after the interests of the firm's commercial property clients. He acts for a number of investors in commercial properties who have substantial and varied property portfolios.

A typical transaction will involve a purchase by an investor client of a freehold retail property, industrial unit or office building which will already be let under a commercial lease, very often to a publicly quoted company or well known high street retailer.

Richard's work also involves dealing with ancillary matters relating to his clients' portfolios including dealing with rent reviews, licenses to assign, licenses to alter and any tenant related disputes.

A current transaction involves the purchase of 5 newly constructed office blocks on a major business park in Leeds where the consideration is in excess of £7,000,000.00 and where the work has involved complex development issues concerning infrastructure. The office blocks are now in the course of being let following their construction. Richard will now be involved in dealing with the letting of the various blocks and issuing leases to prospective tenants etc.

Richard believes in working closely with his clients and their surveyors accountants and other professional advisers so that the clients needs, priorities and expectations are always at the forefront.
