Stephen is Chief Executive of the Property Transfer Company (P.T.C.) .

Since joining the law firm in 1989, Stephen has steered the Conveyancing Department to its successful current format. He set up P.T.C. to adapt to the modern changes in Conveyancing, harnessing the need for state of the art IT to complement the quality personal service that Residential Conveyancing demands.

Stephen was one of seven lawyers short listed for the prestigious Yorkshire Lawyer of the Year Award 2001. He was the only lawyer nominated who was not a Partner in a major national law firm, showing the recognition of the development of P.T.C. by his contemporaries.

P.T.C. initially built its reputation in the niche Relocation Conveyancing sector having gained vast experience from acting for employees of blue chip Plc's and Government Departments.

Stephen's expertise in dealing with relocation work throughout the UK has enabled P.T.C. to be involved with major national networks recommending both Sale and Purchase and Remortgage work both regionally and nationally.

Stephen identified that the current Conveyancing system is radically changing. He is an advocate of on-line tracking, which is essential to satisfy the demands of both the referrer and client. This gives access to key stages of the transaction 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Stephen has also identified that Home Information Packs (HIPS) are the future and his teams are already trialing P.T.C.’s HIPS, which generate greater speed and ensure even closer links with both panel referrers and estate agents.
